Brighton Festival - Underground by Motionhouse
Underground by Motionhouse 18th May 2008 Good or bad, almost everyone has a tale to tell about travelling on the trains and Underground goes straight to the heart of the subject. Performed by four dancers within a rotating, rocking tubular structure, Underground uses physical dance, poignant imagery, and surprising aerial encounters to explore the reality of train travel. From the compressed intimacy of a crowded carriage to the studied ignoring of our fellow humans and the tight fear of a dangerous stranger in the current climate of suspicion, the performance is funny and thought-provoking.
